Will You Help Us Help Our Vets?
Special Message from the Founder of:
Heart N Soul Life Ministries, Rev. Sandy Turner
Special note: This is our first newsletter; so if it is a bit lengthy, please bear with us? We only do one per month. Thank you for your understanding.

"Understanding the Intent of an American Soldier"

On my knees in prayer 20 yrs ago and being obedient to pray for all the Lord would do to bring forth the vision he placed in my heart, that long awaited 20 years has come to such a time as NOW. Although the Lord gave me the vision for this coalition in 1984, at that time I was not aware that it was a coalition for Veterans.  He wanted me to pray as He directed me for all the services I now know he was placing on my heart to fulfill.   God was leading me down a path and preparing me even though the details of just who it was God was urging me to help, and even the details of why were still a bit vague.  I just had to be willing to be obedient no matter what or whom it was for.   Since that time God has brought all the details coupled with the  who's  and  why's  for this ministry.  I've had to be patient for a very long time as I sought to do "His" will and not mine, and I thank God he has chosen to make this coalition effort a reality.

I am the daughter of an Air Force WWII Veteran who fought in Target Italy, who went home to be with the Lord 5/1991 -  when he fought his last battle with Leukemia.  Dad never talked much about his part in the war, but I remember him teaching me at a very early age, all the military fight songs, later to learn them on the piano but haven 't played them since high school.  I believe, seeds were being planted back then as to what God would have me do as an adult.

Let me tell you why our Veterans are so important to me.  My love and passion for our Veterans was instilled in me when I was 16 years old .  I worked in a state nursing home where many Vietnam vets were wounded and sent to this nursing home because the VA hospitals were full.  I had been assigned to the men 's ward to assist in their care before these veterans were transferred to our nursing home.  I couldn't figure out why at only 16 years old  " I " would be assigned to the men's ward.  Nevertheless, I found out later when they arrived.  If you haven't been to a VA hospital or a nursing home where the vets are, you should go.  I believe each American should at some time, ' take the time ' to shake a vets hand, spend time with them and say,   " THANK YOU ".  It was there that I realized the magnitude of war and the sufferings of our soldiers.

Many had different wounds, some head, some lost arms, legs, internal injuries, you name it, I saw a lot at age 16.  I lost my heart to the vets then.  I knew there was something special about them, and wondered,   "What could I ever give back to them that have given it all? "  I still ask this today so many times, it has become a prayer for me.  I remember hearing the cries and the nightmares of the vets every night and working on the second shift, I lost a lot of sleep.  The Lord has built this up in my heart ever since then.

Joshuas Generation, is a ministry, and part of HEART N SOUL LIFE MINISTRIES as is, End Time Ministries, which is my prayer ministry given to me in 1984.  Joshuas Generation is becoming a coalition 4 Veterans. With your help together we can make a difference in the lives of many Veterans today.  I'm on FIRE for our Veterans like nothing I've ever felt or experienced; won't you join me?

Please join us in our efforts to make America a better place for our Vets & Their Families.
They need us and there are several ways to help

We support our soldiers fighting today in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
There are needs they have, that this ministry helps to support and will continue to grow in our support.
Any contribution you give will go to help them while they are on the battlegrounds, "before" and "after" they come home.

Some return home without the routine counseling that could prove to  be very helpful to them.
We Will Change This Venue
(But we need your help)

A 24-Hour Hotline is in the works to enable them to seek counseling across the United States
(Free of Charge)

Let's face it folks, war is something that can change someone's life forever, and we want to provide them with hope. One way of doing this is to simply make them aware of the hotline, as well as the other programs we mention. We want them to know that all services are readily available to them, especially the fact there is hope on the other end of that phone line. We believe it's important they know they have others ready and willing to pray for them "24/7"

Let me ask you a two -fold question.
Part 1 of 2: Have you ever thought about what it takes to prepare for war, to go thru rigorous training to serve and protect at all costs, to be ready to give your life for your country and the God of this country, for millions of people who will never know you; but you train to give it all just the same?  How do they change gears?

Part 2 of 2: Have you thought about the toll it takes on their families? Have you thought about what a soldier's family goes through while they are deployed?  Have you ever considered what they must endure when their soldier comes home?  The mental adjustments, the dealing with any minor or major injuries they have gotten while giving it all.  Have you thought about the adjustments the family goes through the rest of their lives together?  Folks, some never come out of the hospital or nursing home.  WHAT happens to the families then?   Does America forget about them? Too many times America doesn't remember them after a while, but that doesn't mean they are exempt from needing support any longer does it?  We must not forget how much the families sacrifice when their loved one goes to serve their country.  Many people we've talked with prior to preparing this letter say, " Why do we, the people need to get involved. After all, they have benefits and the government takes care of the."

"The Simple Truth"

Yes, the government does take care of them from the status set forth by the government.  The government cannot be in their homes or encourage them in the manner ministries do. It's not just something that can be laid aside folks; they need real people with love in their hearts to reach out to them. We encourage you to be one of those people.

Investing in a vet/soldier is an investment that  "can" and  "will" make our country stronger.

You can invest in a soldier now! Your efforts can assist them when they are fighting, helping them with encouraging cards and care packages and by all means, prayer. You can also help their families through encouragement and prayers.  You can help a soldier after the fighting is over, at least for some of them. However, some come home and are home safe, some suffered injuries, some emotional stress, PTSD, some gave their life to keep all of us free and, some are missing in action (MIA) or held hostage or prisoner (POW).  The war is never over for many soldiers, for them, another one begins.

How do you or I help them?

Have you thought about how to give back to our soldiers? We all need to think about this.  We must realize that if they had not been willing to sacrifice every thing for us, many of us would not be here today NOR would any of us have the freedoms that we enjoy today, freedom to worship as we please, etc.

Freedom is NOT FREE!  IT COSTS, unfortunately it costs lives, but their sacrifice gave us a freedom to live out from under dictatorship.  They gave all because it meant everything to them to keep America free!   When the call came; they were ready to make a stand, ready to fight for our country at any cost!  They deserve our thanks, our gratitude and our respect in war and out of war

Please continue to read to see how you can help to give back to our soldiers and our veterans, see how you can make a difference in their lives and their families.  Your helping this ministry will ensure that you are helping those you never thought possible or even knew needed help once they were home.

May we look at ways you can invest in our Veterans?

· Rallies and veteran reunions where all their needs will be addressed that they make known - including all the VA hospitals and nursing home conditions- and petitions to help make a difference in the care our vets receive.  Included in this program are our soldiers that are being cared for today, when they are in need. Making rallies and reunions a possibility, and not just a dream would be an enormous blessing for everyone.
·  You can help make that happen!
· Some Vets may never hear The Word of God anywhere else.  The reunions will enable them to mingle with other's that they have something in common with, as well as give them spiritual guidance.  What if they don't know Christ as their personal Savior?  These events will give them the opportunity to know and experience salvation.

· We want to make sure their needs are met on a more timely basis should they need to receive help in any form.  As we mentioned earlier in this letter, this effort to help our soldiers and vets is being setup to be a 24/7 operation for them, not the normal Nine-Five operations usually used by many establishments already in place. This particular outreach ministry envisions involving the communities around the country, as well as those in the communities where you live.  This is being established to enable you to give back to the Veterans where they or you live.  It is a challenge to each person, church and community to see where YOU can make a difference.  This coalition is relying on the Lord as to how "He" will have us utilize all the help and contacts we receive to form a NETWORK of assistance for our veterans so that NO VET or SOLDIER and their family is left without the help they need.

·  Several ministries have their own outreach programs, and help our vets daily.  There are three that I want to thank personally and they are - Point Man International Ministries, Journey Back and Opmale-Star.  We thank God for all of them! We will give you the information as it becomes available to us, to afford you the opportunity to contact them also.

·  We are working diligently to have panels set up at some of these reunions where the vets and their family members that attend can ask questions of the speakers that will be on the panel.  If their questions are not answered at that time, they will be looked into and a response will be given to that individual in one way or another.  We want our vets to be very much a part of this ministry, for it is them who can help direct the needs that need to be met through whatever avenues the Lord provides for this ministry.
Every American soldier deserves the BEST once their deployment has concluded; or remain on active duty.
Will you help make a difference?

· Some of our Vets have a Church home where they can receive spiritual counseling they may need.  However, others do not have those benefits made readily available to them.

" W e are willing to do everything
we can to talk them through the tough times.
We can encourage them and give them a glimmer of hope. God can
help them and help this cause.
So we desperately want to put this into action soon. "

We need the support of the American people to make this work.

Some gave their lives and others continue to give in unprecedented ways upon their arrival back in the states.  Our opportunity to give something back is " Now ".

· We only ask you to help in any way possible. We cannot set up the hotlines and reunions without funding.  Numerous organizations do everything they can, but folks what happens if a Vet needs a live person to talk to in the middle of the night, verses the internet?
The Hotline could be that hope!

 In Conclusion:
President Bush has a slogan titled,
 No Child Left Behind
We must come together as Americans with this slogan,
 No Vet Left Behind

A donation in any amount could bring a smile to the faces of a family and their beloved veteran or soldier, and "you" would be the one making the difference... Some feel there isn't anything they can do. You would be very surprised at how far only One-dollar can be stretched. Just think, if everyone reading this sent a dollar to this wonderful cause, it would grow into the vision that was given to me to see that our veterans and soldiers are not forgotten!

You will receive a newsletter monthly from the founder, Rev. Sandy Turner. We want you to see how  "Your" dollar made a difference for our Vets.
